1) What is IndiaPay?

  • This is a completely online mode of sending money from United States to India.
  • Customer needs to follow three simple steps to send money to India.
  • Register on IndiaPay site by providing elementary details.
  • Provide your US bank details.
  • Provide the receiver’s details in India.
  • Finally enter the amount to be send & submit

2) Which country/currencies can you use to make a remittance?

  • Presently we offer online remittances from USD to Indian Rupees .

3) Why should an individual trust IndiaPay?

4) Why is IndiaPay Money Transfer Safe?

  • The proprietary FRISK risk management system from our Software provides a sophisticated suite of fraud detection and prevention options. Each transaction submitted can be filtered through a comprehensive series of fraud detection rules to determine potential risk. Money Transfer via IndiaPay is pretty safe option.

5) When can an individual initiate the transaction?

  • Post validation and activation of US account an individual can initiate the transaction.

6) How account validation and activation works?

  • Post adding US account information account validation process will take place.
  • Any amount in cents below 1 dollar will be debited by IndiaPay from your bank account.
  • IndiaPay will intimate the same to you via email.
  • You need to refer your bank statement for the amount which has been debited.
  • Once you trace the amount please log in IndiaPay and click on “View/verify US Bank A/c. Enter the amount in cents, if the status is changed to “Account Verification “.
  • The debited amount will be adjusted in the remittance transaction booked by the remitter.

Note – Account validation process takes 2/3 working days.
Customer cannot remit funds unless & until his US bank accounts are Activated.

7) Can you send money to an NRE account in India?

  • Yes. You can send money to any NRE account in India. If you have an account with any of IndiaPay”s partner banks for NRE accounts, money is directly credited into your account.

8 ) Are Funds transferred to your beneficiary in India are taxable?

  • No. Since you have already paid taxes over your income generated in United States so these funds would be non taxable.

9) Is there any limit on transaction amount and number of transactions?

10) Which information is required to transfer funds?

  • Post registration remitter need to add his US bank a/c information which contains fields such as Name of A/c Holder, Bank Name, ABA Routing Number, Bank Account Number, Account type and Social Security Number.
  • Remitter also needs to add Beneficiary Details – Name, complete address, phone numbers & Account information.

11) Why SSN is required? How much safe is it?

  • Like bank and other financial institutions, IndiaPay Remit asks for your Social Security Number (SSN), name and address in order to verify your identity. This also enables us to assist federal authorities in preventing money laundering and other illegal activities.
  • Your SSN is held on secured servers and is encrypted and protected using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology in order to ensure your privacy.

12) What is NEFT?

  • National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) is a nation-wide system that facilitates individuals to electronically transfer funds from any bank branch to any other bank branch in the country.

13) What is RTGS?

  • RTGS system is a funds transfer mechanism where transfer of money takes place from one bank to another on a “real time” and on “gross” basis. This is the fastest possible money transfer system through the banking channel. Settlement in “real time” means payment transaction is not subjected to any waiting period. The transactions are settled as soon as they are processed. “Gross settlement” means the transaction is settled on one to one basis without bunching with any other transaction. Considering that money transfer takes place in the books of the Reserve Bank of India, the payment is taken as final and irrevocable.

14) Can an individual send Demand Draft?

  • No, an individual cannot send Demand Draft as we support Account to Account transfer only.

15) What is the time frame for processing a transaction?

  • A transaction is processed in 2 working days subject to Compliance verification and banking holidays and weekends in USA and India.
